This first grade math assessment was our largest class assignment. I created the math assessment, conducted the assessment with a first grade student, and designed a scoring rubric that helped to identify the student's struggling areas. This information was then used to develop an intervention plan.
Reading/Language Arts in Elementary/Middle School I & II
This is the final copy of my Cookie Dough personal narrative. In our class, we did peer revising as well as self revising to arrive at our published piece.
Marilyn's Original Poetry Corner
For this assignment, I chose to write a realistic fiction children's story. My goal was to create an interesting and informative piece for my students to enjoy while at the same time, modeling a finished written piece. I read this book to my class in my second field placement and I will always remember one of the student's comments . . . "You wrote that Mrs. Schmid?!" Click on the above link to view the first five pages. Enjoy!
I performed multiple emergent literacy MLPP assessments on a pre-school student (age: 4 years old). Click on the above link to view a summary of the assessment results and recommended instructional plans.
I administered a series of IRI assessments on a fifth grade student (age: 10 years old). Click on the above link to view a summary of the assessment results and recommended instructional plans.

Literature-Based Social Studies Lesson
This lesson/activity focuses on a "civics" theme for first graders--even though we may look different on the outside, we all are similar on the inside. This story would also lend itself to a great second grade "economics" lesson.
